    Published on 12/10/2024 The Health Ministry has proposed extending indefinitely the ban on HHC and other cannabinoids, which was introduced in February of this year, after over 170 children and young people ended up in hospital after overdosing on products containing them. The ban is due to expire at the end of the year and a new regulation which was to have extended the ban by 146 more substances will not come into force on January 1 as planned.     Disposable vapes to be banned and colours, flavours restricted under Cabinet plan

    Stephen Donnelly has said the plans to introduce a ban are on environmental and public health grounds The Irish government is set to ban disposable vapes. Cabinet approval was given Tuesday morning to draft laws tabled by Health Minister Stephen Donnelly. Under the proposed laws there will be a complete ban on the sale, manufacture or import of single-use or disposable vapes in Ireland. The legislation will also introduce a ban on a multitude of flavours that the government believe often appeal to children – it is estimated that as many as 15,000 flavour combinations exist.
